Slurry pump is a centrifugal pump for transporting liquid (water) containing suspended solids. Conceptually, It is a device that converts electrical energy into kinetic energy and potential energy of the medium by means of centrifugal force (rotation of the impeller of the pump), which increases the energy of the solid and liquid mixed medium. It is mainly used in mining, power plant, dredging, metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials and petroleum industry. The name of slurry pump is a centrifugal pump divided from the point of view of the conveying medium. 

Slurry pumps can be divided into single-stage/multistage,single-suction/double-suction,cantilever,horizontal/vertical and  pump case,wear-resistant parts(include impeller,volute casing,back plate),pump shaft, bearing and bracket. When the impeller rotates rapidly, the vane promotes the medium to rotate quickly. the rotating medium flies out from the impeller under the action of centrifugal force. After the medium in the pump is thrown out, the central part of the impeller forms a vacuum area. The medium is pressed into the transport pipe through the pipe network under the action of atmospheric pressure (or water pressure). In this way, continuous feeding can be achieved, so as to achieve the head and flow required by process design.
